Sculpture

This pumpkin sculpture was made initially with clay. I poured silicone around the clay to create a mould I could use to produce lots of plaster sculptures with.

Print Making

These were made with two different processes of printmaking, stencilling and a printing press. I made the blue background by cutting out the shapes on a piece of paper, whatever was cut out would get painted by the ink. For the image part, I experimented with mixing the ink colours to get a marbling effect when I used the printing press.

Fabric Transfer and Draping

I painted my designs onto sheets of paper using fabric transfer paint. Once they were all arranged how I wanted, I used the iron to transfer the paintings onto the fabric. Depending on how long you spend ironing it, the more intense the colours will come out - My designs ended up with a watercolour-like appearance.

I experimented with creating shapes from the fabric with the draping and settled on this bow design on the front.

Sketches

The drawings above are from the life drawing class I did, we used graphite, charcoal, and dipping ink pen to draw the model in up to 5 minutes each time.

These other sketches were studies from the plastic museum, again we were challenged to draw in short bursts of time in order to practise capturing the subject efficiently. We learnt to look at the subject more than your own drawing to prevent yourself from 'guessing' and drawing what we could actually see.

Photography

' We also experimented with photography on the course, I had a lot of fun using bold colours in my pictures to make the subject stand out.
